Section 8. Any Post member, including Officers, observed discussing Post business outside of any meeting is subject to being reported to the Executive Committee for it to take appropriate action against the individual. (Added – 20 Sep 1960)

 

ARTICLE XII – NOTICES

 

Section 1. The Post Adjutant shall cause notice of the annual election to be given at least two weeks prior thereto.

 

Section 2. All members shall furnish the Post Adjutant with a copy of their DD Form 214 and a current mailing address for notices to be sent.

 

ARTICLE XIII – RULES OF ORDER

 

Section 1. All proceedings of this Post shall be conducted under and pursuant to Roberts’ Rules of Order, except as herein provided, and as referenced in Section 4 (8) – Appendix in the American Legion Officers Guide.

 

ARTICLE XIV – LIABILITIES

 

Section 1. This Post shall incur, or cause to be incurred, no liability nor obligations whatever which shall subject liability any other post, subdivision, group of people, members of The American Legion or other individuals corporations or organizations.

 

ARTICLE XV – MONIES AND COLLECTIONS (added- 7/15/03)

 

Section 1. All post officials and employees handling Post monies shall be properly bonded with a good and solvent bonding and surety company, as surety to cover double the average amount of money handled in a single year. The Post Judge Advocate and the Post Executive Committee shall approve bonds provided by the Post officials.

 

ARTICLE XVI – AMENDMENTS

 

Section 1. These By-Laws may be amended at any regular Post meeting by a vote of two-thirds of the members of said Post attending such regular meeting: Provided that the proposed amendment shall have been submitted in writing and read at the next preceding regular meeting of said Post; and provided, further, That written notice shall have been given to all members at least 10 days in advance of the date when such amendment is to be voted upon, notifying said members that at such meeting a proposal to amend the By-Laws is to be voted upon.
